Meet the Art Show Team ...

Kim Johnson   Kim Johnson, Director

As the show's Director for 18 years, Kim has led her team in establishing Art in Speed Park as one of the nations finest. Her vast knowledge in fine art, marketing and production makes this show a highly anticipated event, the last full weekend of each August. She works year round to ensure the show's success. Always keeping the artwork and the artists as the focus, she has developed one of the region's largest sponsorship programs, with monies going directly to the artists themselves. Driven and determined, she leads her team in delivering the absolute highest in quality. Every facet of the show is carefully thought out and planned to perfection. Her background in television production and on the air, lends to strong Louisville and Southern Indiana Media support. Art in Speed Park is heavily advertised with Kim personally providing much of the television and radio promotion. This charismatic, live wire makes each show an enjoyable one with her full attention to each detail, the most vital being the artwork itself - only the highest caliber at Art in Speed Park. This award winning Director has nurtured the show, and steadfastly worked to make it the success it is today. With a passion...she promotes the Fine Arts throughout Kentuckiana!

Mary Lynne Bailey   Mary Lynne Bailey, Assistant to the Director

Mary Lynne is a well known and respected educator with the West Clark School System for more than 30 years. She is now known as a respected leader in the fine arts community as well. For 14 years, she has worked as Kim's side kick and trusted right hand. She shares in the passion for Art in Speed Park , and the vision that it continues to be one of Greater Louisville’s finest art shows for years to come. She strives to ensure that the artist’s needs are met, as are those of our patrons. She oversees the delectable food offerings at the show that delight the crowds every year as well as leading our team of gracious volunteers. Her infectious personality and delightful nature has helped put a stamp on Art in Speed Park as an "easy show to do" for the artists, and of being one of the friendliest and most accommodating in the region. With an eye for superb quality, she helps to create a wonderful experience for all, leaving artists and patrons coming back for more each year. Many comment that Kim and Mary Lynne have just “too much fun” at the art show each year, is there such a thing as “too” much fun? Nah...!


Brian Hood   Brian Hood, Entertainment Director

A vital member of the Art in Speed Park team, Brian is a natural in the music business. A born musician, he has excelled in producing and providing sound for some of the best acts in the Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana region. Brian has provided the music for the infamous Barnstable Brown Party held in conjunction with The Kentucky Derby, The Color Fest celebrating arts and appreciation of nature in Bernheim Forest and many Waterfront attractions in Louisville and Southern Indiana . He often is called upon to head up entertainment needs for many noted celebrities. Brian has provided a stellar lineup for Art in Speed Park for 15 years. With an ear for extreme talent, Brian continues to “wow us” year after year! He scouts for new musical artists of all kinds, providing creative expression in music and dance. He believes in the vision of Art in Speed Park and the goal of showcasing the finest talents and putting Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville on the map as a well respected home to the fine arts.
